ABOUT

Violinist, violist, singer and arranger, Jean-François Gagné is a graduate of Laval University and of the Conservatoire de Musique de Québec. As a performer, Jean-François is a tenured member of the viola section of the Orchestre Symphonique de Québec and at the same time pursues a career as a countertenor, notably with the Trio Beau Soir and La Chapelle de Québec. As well as being an avid performer, Jean-François is also passionate about teaching and is the viola professor at the Conservatoire de Musique de Trois-Rivières.

Jean-François’ interest in arranging and teaching led him to produce a plethora of teaching materials for all levels. His original arrangements can be heard on recordings, on several radio and television channels, and are frequently performed by amateur and professional organizations.
